Rush is not something to fear! Below we have compiled a short list of what the pre-rush and rush process might look like for you throughout your year:Pre-recruitment events: These events are for you to get to know the sorority as an organization as well as the people who are in it! Most of these events will have an activity for you to do while you socialize with sorority members and learn more about what each organization has to offer in terms of philanthropy, sisterhood, and on campus activities. Keep an eye out for these events on the social media of each organization.Mock rush: Mock rush is designed for you as a possible new member to walk through the first night of rush without all of the pressure of recruitment stressing you out. During the course of this activity, you will be sent to each sorority through a series of rounds in order for you to get to know each one and for them to get to know you!RushRound 1: The first night will focus on sisterhood! You will be assigned a group and will visit each sorority so that the members can get to know you and you can learn about each organization’s sisterhood activities and bonds throughout the chapterRound 2: Night 2 mainly focuses on the philanthropy of each sorority. This includes both the history of the philanthropy, what they represent, and what the chapter does in order to provide for the cause that they sponsor. You will again join a group and will visit the three houses that invited you back.Round 3: This is a preference round where you will attend the top two chapters who invited you back. This will be the last round of recruitment before bids are sent out and you will be asked to rank the houses you attended in order of preference.While Greek life recruitment can seem daunting, the process is truly all about you as a Potential New Member! As a sorority we are so excited to share our love for Alpha Xi Delta with you, but it’s important to stay true to yourself and your beliefs during the experience. By keeping an open mind, you will be able to truly appreciate everything the formal rush process has to offer as well as find your forever home!
